Our Mission, Vision & Goals

Our Mission
We exist to support and empower individuals and communities in understanding and navigating the rapidly unfolding Global Crisis—a convergence of ecological, social, technological, and economic breakdowns—by fostering deep reflection, meaningful dialogue, and bold systemic transformation.
Our Goals
To build a new global consciousness and prepare humanity for a life sustaining future - beyond the collapse of our current industrial civilization.
Our Vision
A world adapted to a new ecological order, reorganized bioregionally, with reduced consumption, powered by renewables and governed by regenerative commons.
Why Global South Perspectives Matter for Planetary Solutions

Global South Leadership & Fourth-Generation Innovation
Most crisis frameworks emerge from Northern institutions operating within paradigms that created the Global Crisis. Our Global South research perspective provides essential alternative viewpoint, while our Global Crisis Framework (GCF) represents the fourth generation of crisis understanding—beyond Polycrisis → Metacrisis → Deep Adaptation.
Why This Matters
TERRA reveals which sustainability initiatives have genuine transformation potential versus sophisticated symptom management, enabling strategic resource redirection toward approaches that actually work.
Our Primary Contribution
The Global Crisis Framework (GCF) featuring TERRA assessment methodology and Global Crisis Response Strategy (GCRS)—systematic tools for understanding civilizational transformation that distinguish genuine transformation from sophisticated symptom management.
Our Approach
Complete Infrastructure for Transformation
TERRA Framework
TERRA reveals which sustainability initiatives have genuine transformation potential versus sophisticated symptom management through systematic assessment criteria that evaluate paradigm alignment and systemic integration.
GCRS Strategy
Islands via Lifeboats" blueprint for conscious civilizational transition—building immediate resilience while creating long-term sustainable communities through bioregional organization and regenerative systems.
Heritage Integration
Building on 100+ years of Gandhi-Kumarappa synthesis and Global South innovations, integrating philosophical traditions like Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam (the world is one family), Ubuntu (interconnectedness of humanity), and Sumak Kawsay (buen vivir) with contemporary systems science.
Dual Implementation: A & B Series Projects
A-Series R&D Initiative
Develops conceptual and strategic foundations, validating & refining GCF, transforming discourse surrounding existential risks.
B-Series Projects
Focus on critical on-the-ground implementation, particularly within India and South Asia, fostering resilient local communities.
Our Team

Sudhir Shetty
Founder & CEO
Sudhir Shetty: He is the Founder and Senior Researcher of Global Crisis Response (GCR.org), a transnational think tank and social change movement based in Mumbai, India. As the principal architect of the Global Crisis Framework (GCF), Sudhir Shetty brings a unique Global South perspective to humanity's existential challenges, integrating ecological overshoot, energy descent, civilizational complexity, and exponential technology risks into a unified analysis that challenges mainstream sustainability discourse. His work focuses on prefigurative responses to inevitable civilizational collapse, emphasizing bioregional resilience and community-centered transition strategies as alternatives to techno-optimistic solutions.
GCR.org is currently led by Sudhir Shetty, who developed the Global Crisis Framework and serves as the primary thought leader and author for all organizational content. As the organization grows, additional contributors will be clearly identified, maintaining transparency about authorship and intellectual contributions.

Kaira Wallace (California, USA)
Research Assistant (2020-21)
"My time as a research assistant with GCR was hugely valuable and helped me develop useful skills like creating written form content, database creation, and critical thinking. I gained new perspectives on issues like climate change and became more aware of the work that needs to be done. I'm so glad I had the opportunity to work with this organization!"

Tulika Singh (New Delhi, India)
Research Assistant (2020-21)
"The eight weeks at GCR allowed me to grow personally and helped me gain a new understanding of the world from a socio-ecological perspective - an experience I had never had before"

Vanitha Patil
Project Management tool (Asana) integration & training
Collaborating with GCR was not only buoyant but also was a learning curve in educating me about terms such as sustainability, Collapse, and Global crisis. Being part of the PM integration tool

Amanjeet Kaur (Mumbai, India)
Technical lead-Project Management tool (Asana) integration & training
My experience of volunteering with GCR was both enriching and enlightening. I got the opportunity to enhance my skills in the field of Project Management and gained authentic knowledge about real-world issues. I am grateful that I could be a part of such a crucial initiative.

Working with GCR on the strategic project “Board Recruitment Strategy” has been a milestone on my personal and professional developmental journey
Think & Do Tank Model: Research Excellence Meets Implementation Vision
GCR.org operates as a self-funded initiative in its early stages, building toward becoming a full-fledged transnational organization. While transnational in vision, we are currently developing the infrastructure and partnerships necessary for global impact.

Fourth-Generation Framework Evolution
-
First Generation: Polycrisis (1999-2020) - Recognized interconnectedness but lacked action pathways
-
Second Generation: Metacrisis (2020-2024) - Identified root causes but limited implementation tools
-
Third Generation: Deep Adaptation (2018-2024) - Prepared for breakdown but insufficient coordination infrastructure
-
Fourth Generation: Global Crisis Framework (2024-Present) - Complete communication + assessment + implementation infrastructure
