Global Crisis Response

GCR.org as a catalyst to mobilze humanity

GCR.org, a budding non-profit Transnational Think Tank based in Mumbai, acknowledges humanity's critical predicament: the near-term inevitability of civilizational collapse and the looming shadow of planetary collapse. Humanity faces a profound catch-22: strong interventions to fix individual crises risk destabilizing the interconnected systems of GIC, potentially hastening collapse, while inaction ("kicking the can down the road") allows the underlying pressures to build, making collapse more severe.

Pragmatic in their approach, GCR.org understands the impossibility of a managed collapse, even with collective will. Instead, they are convinced that the crucial period of pre-collapse "peace-time" must be utilized to anticipate the collapse and leverage civilizational surplus—including wealth, carbon budget, and talents—to lay the foundations for a future economy.

The prevailing narrative of "sustainability," focused on incremental adjustments within a fundamentally flawed system of endless growth on a finite planet, is deemed utterly insufficient by GCR.org. They argue that attempting to fix isolated symptoms within this brittle, failing system is akin to rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic and will likely accelerate the collapse. GCR.org emerges to confront this reality head-on, moving beyond symptom management to actively anticipating existential risks and shaping viable futures.

GCR.org acts as a catalyst in this transition towards a post-collapse alternative paradigm. The vision of TERRA and GCRS is translated into reality through their programmatic components: the A-Series projects (global discourse shift via top-down efforts) and B-Series Projects (catalyzing societal transition via ground-up action led by communities). These are not disparate efforts but synergistic ecosystems of action research designed for comprehensive impact.

The A series insights inform B series projects, and B series learning refines A series efforts, creating a continuous loop of action and learning.
